Getting Started

Writing a post on the #learning-topics channel on Discord

We aren’t strict on how the post should be structured and what details should be included. We do expect at least a brief introduction or sentence to explain what the topic is about or why you believe it is worth a discussion:

Writing an entry to our Tech Radar

After you have received an invitation from us or your team lead, we will help you with the process of documenting your findings and contributions in our Tech Radar table: https://radar.d.foundation/. In the table, we’ll guide you through the process of creating a card to document. Each card will have a template to help you get started:

@Date - **[Ring]** (People involved) Details

Here is an example of this:

The **Ring** label can be omitted if there are no changes in the ring position:

Responsibilities for moderators

Maintaining standards

On top of making sure the standards are met for our Getting Started section, moderators are also in charge of making sure topics listed in the Tech Radar and the #learning-topics discord forum channel have active contributions to them to prevent them from being stale. Tech Radar entries should not be haphazardly or lazily created.

Be careful as not all topics are Tech Radar related. Make sure to check for posts that have the radar tag.

In the event a tech in the radar becomes stale due to a failed assessment of the technology, for instance, then moderators are in charge of following up with the contributor of the tech before archiving it.
